Deeper Start Features That Are Worth Mention

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect fish finder that won’t break the bank, you’re in the right place. We’ve scoured the market to find the best affordable fish finder options for budget-conscious anglers like you. These fish finders may not come with all the bells and whistles of their high-end counterparts, but they deliver where it matters most – helping you locate and reel in those elusive fish without emptying your wallet.

Design and Build Quality

This fish finder is light and only weighs 2.3oz. You can cast it using any line without worrying about the line breaking. The sleek body design also makes it easier for you to cast and reel in your catch.

The Deeper START is the best casting fish finder option if you’re looking for a lightweight fish finder. It’s also small and can easily fit in your tackle box.

Unlike traditional fish finders, the START fish finder features an inbuilt LED light that is automatically activated to enhance visibility. This feature is essential if you’re fishing at night.

Performance and Functionality

The Deeper START is among the best fish finder with enhanced features and functionality. It features an automatic night fishing function that allows you to find fish in the dark.

Deeper has enhanced this fish finder tech in that you can now set the alarm to alert you if there is fish in your area. The app will also save all the scans so you can review them later.

App Integration and User Experience

Deeper START is user-friendly and integrates well with the Fish Deeper app. It only takes a few seconds to pair with your phone or tablet.

All you need is a strong WiFi connection to cover a wide range. It also transfers data 10X faster than those using Bluetooth connection. With this sonar, you get accurate data instantly as it makes 10 scans per second.

Fishing Performance and Insights

Generally, this fish-finding sonar is easy to use and does an excellent job of scanning around the shoreline and docks. This apple-sized sonar will display the water depth and indicate the contours at the bottom.

It also sends sonar waves to the app when there is a presence of weed. It can also detect the water temperature and advise accordingly.

The Deeper START scan large areas with a frequency of 120 kHz when on a 40-degree angle. This allows you to cover a large area when providing the required accuracy. It can also detect fish in deeper areas.

Battery Life and Charging

Deeper START features an inbuilt battery that’s easy to charge and can hold power for up to six hours. This sounder automatically turns on when submerged in water and turns off when removed. This technology helps the battery to save power for longer.

You can know whether the battery is charged or not by checking the lighting. If the battery is charged, this fish finder shows fixed lighting when plugging the cord. However, you will need to charge it if the light flashes once. Approximately it takes around 2.5 hours to charge.

What Could Be Better on Deeper Start

Although Deeper START is a good fish finder, it could be better if they improved its technical specs. From my experience, this device has a problem with target separation as it impacts its performance.

The low target separation registers a few small fish clustered together as large fish. This means you get inaccurate information on the size of your target fish.

Another problem we noted with this device is the short maximum range. Although the manufacturer indicates that the maximum range is 165ft, we noted that the range was shorter when fishing.

The connectivity also reduced once we threw the START in the water. This problem was more prominent when fishing on windy days, but turning on the data connection improved our WiFi connection.

Who Is the Deeper START For?

The Deeper START is a game-changer for beginners and casual anglers who love fish finder for shallow water action. It’s purpose-built for those shallow waters, making it a breeze to spot fish and get the lowdown on the bottom terrain. But hold on, there’s more! If you’re all about bank fishing and need a trusty fish finder for shallow water, the Deeper START has your back. It’s a versatile tool that’ll elevate your angling game.

This Deeper Fish Finder is also ideal for anglers who like fishing as a group or fishing at night. It features n automated flashing light that makes it easier for you to view fish at night.
